We are oriental food enthusiasts, currently based in Europe, but with many years of living in the East under our combined belts.

It is impossible to live in countries such as Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore without developing a serious love and appreciation for Oriental food, art, and culture. Perhaps nowhere do these three pursuits combine better than in the ancient tradition of Japanese blade craftsmanship.

It would be extremely rare to fine an artisan working on these blades in Japan, who was not also a connoisseur of sashimi, or a similar culinary art. It takes a passion for the end product – the food, not just the knife – for these master craftsmen to achieve the heights that they have accomplished.

These knives all at once represent many centuries of distilled Japanese craftsmanship and skill, the pinnacle of both traditional and modern engineering methods, incredible everyday usefulness and practicality and a pure and minimal aesthetic beauty.
