Tako Hiki translates literally as ‘octopus puller’, and belongs to the group of Sashimi Hocho (meaning ‘raw fish knives’). The Tako Hiki has a rectangular blade with a squared end and a single bevelled edge; it can also come with a double-bevel. The Tako Hiki is a large knife, around 10″ long, and often even longer (depending on the size of the octopus!)
